When deciding on a business name – check to see if the domain is also available.  For example if you called your business  “Phoenix Video Biography Services” you might want to see if you can purchase PhoenixVideoBiography.com.  Check with Godaddy to purchase desired domain name.

You might want a separate phone number to receive your calls. You may wish to use your cell phone; or use a phone number strictly for advertising. This may be a voicemail number which gives the caller a brief summary of your services, tells them about your website, and allows them to leave a message. There are many services and options available, including paging you when you receive a message, or finding you and sending the caller to your cell phone or home phone. At the time of this writing, the State of Florida is offering sales tax incentives to video photographers. You may be eligible to make tax free purchases on various video equipment. Please check Florida’s website or your own State’s website for more information.

Create a logo and/or color scheme for your business cards, letter head, postcards and website. Consider adding the logo/color scheme to t-shirts or polo shirts, hats, etc.  You might want to consider doing so with either VistaPrint or CafePress.
